Standard for Responsible Recycling (R2) of Electronic Waste
With the popularisation of electronic appliances such as mobile phones, computers, and home appliances, electronic waste (e-waste) problem is becoming more and more serious. According to statistics, in the past ten years, as many as 10 billion sets of e-waste have been generated worldwide, and the pollution of e-waste cannot be ignored. Responsible Recycling (R2) is a certification standard developed to help address the electronic waste problem. It is developed to minimise the impact of electronic waste on the environment and ensure that any hazardous materials are properly disposed of. This is an effort to improve e-waste recycling.
R2 is the abbreviation of Responsible Recycling, which means responsible recycling. It is a standard for the electronics recycling industry developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and stakeholders in the electronics recycling industry.
As a member of the benefit-sharing group in the recycling industry, EPA formulated the “reuse and recycle” practice in 2008 to help the majority of e-waste recycling companies improve environmental performance, improve employee health and safety, and improve data security. Implementing public health operating practices and calling on all organisations in the global electronic recycling chain to conduct responsible management with R2 standard.
Our company has created and been operating based on R2 management system and we have completed stage I Registration Audit.
